Urban modernism with classic equestrian sensibility.
But have you ever wondered who is actually making these beautiful jackets?
Lisa Nelle grew up in rural Michigan and was recognized early on as possessing a special talent destined for something big. She fell in love with both horses and sewing by the time she started kindergarten, and was winning awards designing for local 4-H fashion shows and creating one-of-a-kind outfits for herself before she turned ten. That early confidence was literally “sewing the seeds" of a career that would take her far away from the farm house where her parents still live, and where Lisa often returns for inspiration.
By her teens, Lisa was competing at the world level in both Quarter Horse and Palomino, so it's no wonder that her designs make the rider feel and look amazing in the ring! Personal experience is one of the things that sets Lisa Nelle apart; it's the fabric of every design she makes! In her early 20's, Lisa decided to pursue design as a career and headed west to get a degree at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising. She graduated in 2002, but instead of going to work for someone else, she started Lisa Nelle Apparel and has grown the company every year since.
Going forward, Lisa Nelle is as committed as ever to bucking trends, breaking boundaries and leading the industry.
